열중량분석기(Thermogravimetric analysis, TGA)는 온도변화에 따른 시료의 무게변화를 측정하여 분석하는 장비이다. TGA에 의한 온도-무게 변화량의 곡선으로부터 시료의 열 변화 상태를 알고 정성 및 정량 분석을 가능하게 한다.

방출 가스 분석(Evolved gas analysis, EGA)은 가열된 샘플에서 방출된 가스를 연구하는 데 사용되는 방법입니다. TGA와 GC/MS(Gas Chromatograph/Mass Spectrometer)를 결합하여 정성분석이 가능합니다.

시차주사열량계(Differential Scanning Calorimeter, DSC)는 시료와 기준물질의 온도 프로그램에 의하여 일정한 속도로 변화시키면서 둘 사이의 온도차를 zero로 유지하기 위하여 필요한 에너지(enthalpy)의 양을 측정하여 열의 흐름을 온도의 함수로 나타내어 얻어진 피크의 위치, 모양 및 수로부터 시료의 정성적인 분석과 또한 시료 변성시 피크의 넓이변화로부터 시료의 열에 대한 엔탈피 변화 등에 대한 변수들을 정량적으로 측정할 수 있다.
